Matcha Cocktail Mocktail suggestion. Perfect for matcha martini mocktail.

Matcha Martini Mocktail? Mamma, you don’t know how easy it is to make! This martini takes less than a minute to prepare and uses 2 ingredients.

Forget the espresso martini trend and try this drink. This recipe is simple but delivers a complex taste. I love making these for date nights and even a fun brunch.

The origin of the matcha martini is unknown, but I want to thank the person who invented it!

Zero Proof Vodka:

My favorite brand is the Strykk Not Vanilla Vodka. It has a refreshing vanilla note that complements this cocktail. If you do not like vanilla you can skip and substitute for the unflavored version.

Cold Brew Matcha

If you can get a hold of cold brew matcha, then you won’t need any of the other ingredients in the recipe. I like keeping a few cans of this green goodness in my fridge. It cuts down time and literally makes this a 2 ingredient matcha martini.

Matcha Powder

Matcha is a green tea that is in powder form. It originated in China but is very popular in Japan. It has a grassy yet sweet flavor that is hard to explain.

Water

Allows you to mix the matcha to make it into a tea.

Sweeter

Select a sweetener of your choice, I prefer a simple syrup.

Cream (Optional)

If I want a smooth and rich finish to the martini I will a little cream

Recipe

In the shaker add:

1 cup ice

2 ounces Vanilla Vodka

4 ounces of the Matcha Cold Brew

(If you cannot find it at the store, here’s a recipe I love to make it: https://www.ohhowcivilized.com/iced-matcha/#recipe)

Shake for 20 seconds (don’t over shake otherwise it will water your mocktail down)

Garnishes

There are many garnish options for your Matcha Mocktail. In general, I often incorporate a base ingredient as a garnish.

I usually do a pour of cream or a matcha flavored cookie

I have also seen restaurants garnish using: lime, shiso or mint leaf

The Matcha Martini Mocktail is for any occasion. I love drinking this on date nights or even for a fun sushi night.

In spite of the many differences that exist between green tea and matcha tea, they come from the same plant. The two green teas are different, such as the way they prepare, their texture, and their flavor, although they may have the same color.

Do I need to add lemon or lime juice?

Some people prefer adding a squeeze of a citrus. Lime juice does add a brightness, but I leave it out because I use cream in my recipe.

You won’t necessarily need one, if you do not own one, a mason jar or any glass works fine.

How Do I keep the Matcha Ice cold?

Place the Matcha in the fridge to keep it chilled.

Can I make this recipe hot?

To be honest I have never tried making a warm version of this drink. I think this would be a fun alternative to a Hot Toddy or any winter drink,
